Note

What beliefs are keeping you from Great Work?

Great Work

Great Work is a practice of faith.

You have faith that creating something different today will one day have a positive influence on yourself, others and the world.

To sustain that faith, you first have to reverse these limiting beliefs:

1. Freedom vs. Constraints

Belief: More freedom makes me more productive.

Truth: Unrestricted freedom leads to inefficiency. Constraints reduce your freedom, but they force you to be creative, and creativity makes you more productive.

2. Busyness vs. Productivity

Belief: If I’m busy, I’m being productive.

Truth: Busy does not mean better. When you fill your day with activity, you dilute your focus and make little progress on the work that matters most.

3. Credentials vs. Courage

Belief: I need the right degree before I start.

Truth: You don’t need a degree for Great Work. You need the courage to ask and the willingness to solve problems for others.

4. Motivation vs. Environment

Belief: I’ll start when I feel motivated.

Truth: Motivation doesn’t last. The spaces where you live and work shape most of your daily habits.

5. Winning vs. Improving

Belief: Fast results matter most.

Truth: Fast results often come at the expense of long-term improvement. Focus on getting better, and the wins will follow.

6. Intensity vs. Consistency

Belief: The harder I push, the better.

Truth: Intensity you can’t sustain leads to burnout. Build the skill of showing up at a pace you can keep for years.

7. News vs. Old Books

Belief: Watching the news keeps me informed.

Truth: Most news is forgotten by tomorrow. Great books that are still read after 10 years have lasted because their ideas are timeless.

8. Fear of Judgment vs. Sharing

Belief: It’s safer to keep my work to myself.

Truth: Fear keeps your work hidden. When you share your unique ideas with the world, you inspire others to pursue their own Great Work.
